Puzzle Pieces

Connections are very important to me, how things are interrelated, connected to each other, how they work together, exist together.  I am not a matchmaker or anything like that (usually best not to get involved in all that), but it is important to me that people have valuable and life giving relationships in their lives.

This Saturday night is all about that.  Connection Point is the event where we will allow Connect Groups to form.  The impact that will have on these people’s lives is indescribable.  What those same people will then be able to do to impact this community is beyond my wildest dreams.  I strongly believe that God intends us to live in close personal relationships with people, and this is where it starts.

Putting together the event is like putting a puzzle together.  There are all sorts of seemingly random and unrelated little pieces that have to be arranged and fit together to make a cohesive event.  Fortunately, I dig the details, so that works out pretty well.  God is really stretching me with this though, teaching me to delegate, patience, and trust.  Most of all, I believe He is teaching me to have faith in Him and just leave  Him in control of it.  That’s tough for me.

I like to play that game Jigsaw on msn.  It’s like a computer version of a puzzle, minus the frayed edges, space taken up on the table and musty smelling cardboard.  You can arrange all the pieces, sort out the edges and view the guide.  When  you manage to get all of the pieces together, the puzzle melds into one beautiful picture, with no seams or scars, no piece marks.  You can’t see the pieces anymore.  Instead of seeing an incomplete piece, you see this amazingly beautiful complete picture.  You aren’t focused on the leaf, tip of a flower petal with 3 strands of grass leaning left – you are able to see the entire magnificent picture of Angel Falls with gleaming rocks, rushing water, gorgeous plants and an orchid that sits near the base.

That’s what this is about.  We’re puzzle pieces in God’s picture.  We are just little pieces of the whole.  But when we come together and find the place that we fit, the place that is only filled by us, we form a picture that is beyond description.  When all the pieces of the puzzle connect… magic.

Come connect Saturday.
